Welcome to the culminating experience of the teacher preparation program – student teaching. This is an exciting and transformative time in the journey to becoming a professional educator! You will apply everything you have learned in coursework to real classroom settings, under the guidance of experienced mentor teachers and university supervisors.

The purpose of the student teaching handbook is to provide you with the expectations, responsibilities, procedures, and support resources necessary for a successful and meaningful student teaching experience. It will serve as your go-to reference throughout the semester, helping you navigate this important phase with clarity and confidence. P

Please read this handbook carefully and refer to it often.  If you have questions, concerns, or need support at any time, your university supervisor, cooperating teacher, program coordinator, and School of Education Dean’s office are here to help you.
