All-Level Education (Certifiable PK-12)

DepartmentAdmission Requirements
Art 
  • Completion of Art 112, 113, 120, PSY 136
  • Art Department Portfolio Review
  • Minimum of 3.00 in all Art Courses
  • Completion of EDTE 314 concurrently with ART 301 with a grade of C or better. (EDTE 314 and ART 301 can be in progress at the time of application submission but must be successfully completed before full admission is granted).
Music 
  • Successful completion of MUS 101, 216, 278, & 408. (MUS 216 and 408 can be in progress at the time of application submission but must be successfully completed before full admission is granted).
  • Pass at least 60% of piano proficiency exam
  • Completion of EDTE 314 concurrently with MUS 310 with a grade of C or better. (EDTE 314 and MUS 310 can be in progress at the time of application submission but must be successfully completed before full admission is granted).
Dance 
  • Minimum of 3.00 GPA in all courses in the Dance Education Major
  • Successful completion of DAN 110, EXS 207, DAN 272, and 2 skills courses in the Dance Education major before applying to the Professional Program
  • Completion of EDTE 314 concurrently with DAN 298 (or DAN 299) with a grade of C or better. (EDTE 314 and DAN 298/299 can be in progress at the time of application submission but must be successfully completed before full admission is granted).
Physical Education 
  • Minimum of 3.00 GPA in all courses in the Physical Education Major
  • Successful completion of EXS 207, PE 111, and 2 skills courses in the Physical Education major before applying to the Professional Program.
  • Completion of EDTE 314 concurrently with PE 299 with a grade of C or better. (EDTE 314 and PE 299 can be in progress at the time of application submission but must be successfully completed before full admission is granted).
Technology & Engineering 
  • Completion of 15 credit hours in TE Courses completed at CCSU with a grade of C- or higher. (or 9 credits for transfer students) (Students may be enrolled in the 15 credits (or 9 credits for transfer students) at the time of application submission but must successfully complete the appropriate credits before full admission is granted).
  • Completion of EDTE 314 concurrently with TE 299 with a grade of C or better. (EDTE 314 and TE 299 can be in progress at the time of application submission but must be successfully completed before full admission is granted).
Special Education
  • Candidates should be enrolled in SPED 315 at the time of application submission. This course must be successfully completed with a grade of C or better.
