The Freshman Living Learning Community is one of our special halls for new students. Those who choose this LLC will live side-by-side with other freshmen and first-year students. Our goal is to fully acclimate first-year students to the university setting by offering programming around study skills, campus resources, community building, and overall health and safety. Many programs are co-sponsored with the on-campus Learning Center (TLC), New Student Programs Office, as well as faculty members from various departments. Seth North Hall also houses multiple First-Year Experience (FYE) academic classes. Events will include:
Housed in Mid-Campus Hall
An LLC for those in the field of Nursing or interested in Nursing. This cohort is designed for both Nursing and Pre-Nursing students. Cultivate interactions and network among other Nursing students as you navigate the dynamic educational experience in our Nursing program. Meet with professional nurses as you engage in health-related community activities, all while gaining real world experience. The Nursing program is competitive and this living and learning community can help you prepare for this challenge. Meet with advisors as you plan out your program. Live and learn your way towards a nursing career!
Housed in Thomas Gallaudet Hall
With so many choices, picking the right major is tough. You also need to think about a career and learn the connection between majors and careers. This LLC provides an excellent opportunity to explore and navigate the many different and exciting majors CCSU has to offer, and which careers they will prepare you for beyond CCSU. Peer mentors will help with your transition to campus as you also discover social events that introduce you to student clubs, campus activities, departments, and faculty, as well as other students on campus.
