The University of Galway, founded in 1845, has over 17,000 students and 2,000 international students from 92 countries. It is located in the city of Galway, one of the fasting growing cities in Europe. Galway is young at heart, with students making up 20% of the population here. It is the most international place in Ireland with one in four people born outside of the state. Students will have the choice of living in one of the ten student residencies (one of which is on campus Corrib Village, the other nine are within easy reach of the university), or find their own off-campus housing.
