Madaba, Jordan
The American University of Madaba (AUM) is a private, non-profit university located in Madaba, Jordan, approximately 45 minutes from Amman. AUM was founded by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The university promotes ethical responsibility, mutual respect, hospitality, peace, coexistence, and academic excellence in a multicultural learning environment.
AUM offers small, personalized classes and a modern, environmentally friendly campus. The campus includes renewable energy systems, accessible indoor and outdoor spaces, and facilities designed to support student life and academic success.
Madaba is known as the “City of Mosaics” and is home to important cultural and historical sites, including the sixth-century mosaic map of the Holy Land, Byzantine mosaic floors, churches, archaeological sites, Mount Nebo, and views of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

Housing
Female students may live at House of Grace, a residence administered by nuns that offers single rooms, air-conditioned rooms, free Wi-Fi, laundry, dining areas, kitchen facilities, outdoor areas, a reading room, a fitness corner, and shuttle bus service to campus. The cost of one single room is approximately $245 per month, including taxes.
For male students, AUM’s International Student Office assists with finding appropriate housing options in Madaba and/or Amman. Options in Madaba include hotel accommodation ranging from approximately $56–$85 per night, including utilities, or apartments at approximately $450 per month with breakfast.
