Room Selection Information

Room Selection Basic Facts:

  • To be eligible to select a room students must pay the non-refundable housing deposit and complete the online housing application in MyHousing
  • To select a room, you must have a roommate group large enough to fill it to capacity
  • To select a suite, you must have a roommate group large enough to fill the entire suite

  • Continuing Students (i.e., students who lived on campus during the spring semester)

    • March 3, 2023 – March 27, 2023 & April 2, 2023 – April 23, 2023: Students can search for and pair with roommates.
      • You will only be able to pair with other current resident students, you will not be able to pair with commuters, or incoming students.

    Room Selection Phases

    IMPORTANT: Single rooms can only be selected during Single Room Selection. All students (including those currently living in single rooms) looking to select a single room must do so during Single Room Selection. Being a current occupant of a single room does not guarantee that you will be able to reselect it.

    • March 28, 2023 – March 31, 2023: Single Room Selection:
      • Students may select any available single room when their selection becomes active.
      • Students may (but do not have to) form a roommate group if they wish to live in a suite that has single rooms.
    • April 3, 2023 – April 4, 2023: Same Hall Same Room/Suite
      • Students may select their current room/suite provided they can fill it to capacity
    • April 6, 2023 – April 7, 2023: Same Hall Different Room/Suite
      • Students may select a different room/suite in their current hall provided they can fill to capacity.
    • April 11, 2023 – April 23, 2023: General Selection
      • Students may select any room/suite available provided they can fill it to capacity when their selection time is active.
    • Continuing students who apply after April 23, 2023 will be assigned to a room based on the available space and the preferences listed on their hosing application.

  • New Students (i.e., anyone who did not live on campus during the spring semester)

    • May 4, 2023 – June 28, 2023: Students can search for and pair with roommates.
      • You will only be able to pair with other new students, you will not be able to pair with students who lived on campus during the spring semester.
    • June 14, 2023 – June 28, 2023: New Student Room Selection
      • Students may select any room/suite available provided they can fill it to capacity when their selection time is active.
    • New students who apply after June 28, 2023, will be assigned to a room based on the available space and the preferences listed on their hosing application.

  • Summer Room Change: July 5, 2023 – August 4, 2023

    • All students with a housing assignment for the fall semester will have the option to change their room in MyHousing during Summer Room Change.
    • Students may change their room as often as they would like during Summer Room Change.
    • Roommate groups cannot be formed during Summer Room Change.
