First-Year Orientation

Welcome New Blue Devils!

At First-Year Student Orientation, the CCSU community comes together for a high-impact program featuring our welcoming campus community and engaging Orientation Leaders. Programs occur in January for new Spring admits, and through the summer for Fall admits.

Orientation Outcomes

• Welcome new students to campus and valuable campus resources, such as our Blanket of Support,
• Connect new students to each other, to Orientation Leaders, and to their peers
• Provide an initial exposure to the Undergraduate advising team, faculty and staff, so that new students may learn about academic advising and partake in course registration.
• Learn about CCSU technology, obtain a Student-ID & parking pass, and take home an academic course schedule.

Our First Year Student Orientation has 2 options for students.

1. A two-day program structure, where students will stay in one of our residence halls for the duration of the program and be fully immersed in campus life. (This format is highly recommended)
2. A one-day program that allows for a more condensed approach to sharing important information and providing an engaging experience for students as best possible.

New Students will receive emails from CCSU New Student Programs (Orientation@ccsu.edu) with links to sign up for Orientation, as well as important next steps once they confirm their acceptance to CCSU.

Please visit our First-Year Road Map for help with understanding next steps. It is critical to note that completing Math & English Placement Exams, as well as submitting SAT/ACT scores is an important requirement before attending Orientation. Advisors will be unable to support schedule creation if these are not completed.
