Candidates seeking Connecticut Secondary Education Certification (grades 4-12) OR All-Level (PK-12) Certification must meet subject-specific assessment requirements by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). 

Important Notes:

  • The School of Education at Central cannot recommend teacher candidates for certification until they have successfully passed the Praxis Subject Assessment and/or ACTFL Assessment, and all other program requirements.
  • You must wait one full month between test dates. This helps to ensure a fair and consistent testing process for everyone.
