One-Day Program
A more condensed approach to sharing important information and providing an engaging experience for students as best possible.
First Year Student One-Day Program:
Friday, June 12
Stay tuned for additional date(s)
Two-Day Program
Students will stay in one of our residence halls for the duration of the program and be fully immersed in campus life. (This format is highly recommended)

First Year Student Orientation Schedules
Day 1:
Check-in & Residence Hall Move-in (9AM)
All students attending arrive to Mid Campus Residence Hall, receive their room assignment and key card, and drop-off their overnight items. All students are expected to stay overnight unless otherwise approved by the office of New Student Programs.
Families report directly to the Student Center for check-in. Students will head to the Student Center for check-in after settling their items in the residence hall.
Campus Services Resource Fair
Meet campus professionals from key student support areas.
Welcome
Hear from university leadership and meet your Orientation Leaders (OLs) who will guide students and families through their programs.
Orientation Groups Connections
Meet the members of your Orientation group! Your Orientation Leaders will guide you throughout your Orientation experience, answer your questions, and facilitate activities to help you connect with the other members of your group.
General Advising Meetings
Academic Advisors will provide information specific to your major and College/ School.
Lunch
Meal provided.
Student Support Presentation
Hear from Residence Life, Student Rights & Responsibilities, and Counseling & Wellness.
Survive or Thrive: Making the Most of your College Experience
Engage in this TedTalk-style session. Orientation Leaders will share their stories of how getting involved and taking advantage of Central’s resources helped them to THRIVE, not just survive in college.
Break (Family Program Ends)
Free time. Student Athletes, and their families meet with the Academic Center for Student Athletes.
Involvement Game Show
Learn about clubs, organizations, and events on campus from this interactive experience with the office of Student Activities/Leadership Development.
Photo Challenge & Campus Tour
Brief tour of campus and Competition for which group has the best photo in the campus location of their choice.
Dinner
Meal provided.

Participate in high energy activities to meet your fellow incoming Blue Devils. Horns Up!
Fears-in-a-Bag
Anonymous Q&A with OLs about student life at Central.
Block Party
The Student Center turns into a block party! Games, crafts, low-stimulus activities, photos-ops, food, lawn-games, and music with DJ Montez!

Your First Year: FYE Courses and Programs
Learn about Central’s First Year Experience (FYE) course and programs
Rotating Sessions
Lunch provided after the second session rotation

- Learn about the registration process and finalize your Fall schedule with Academic Advisors.
- Community Engagement & Experiential Learning
- Explore how experiential learning impacts your future career goals, get introduced to Central Pulse, and complete your first service project.
- Blue Devils GO!
- Visit key campus resources in this guided tour experience where you’ll hear directly from student service areas.
Closing
Join us one final time as an incoming class of Blue Devils. We will send you off with a sense of community, a T-shirt, and your Bluechip Student ID.
Check-out and Departure (3:15PM-4:00PM)
Be sure to bring home everything you brought with you and return your key card. We will see you next at Opening Weekend- 8/23 & 8/24!

Learn about family support services, including our family newsletter: Blue Devil Bulletin.
Family Breakout Sessions
Select the presentation of your choosing with topics including financial aid and scholarships, supporting neurodiverse students, academic advising, sessions tailored to families of first-generation college students, and Spanish-speaking families.
Survive or Thrive: Making the Most of your College Experience
Engage in this TedTalk-style session. Orientation Leaders will share their stories of how getting involved and taking advantage of Central’s resources helped them to THRIVE, not just survive in college. Closing of Family Program (3:35PM) (Students experience a break) Students may utilize this time how they would like. Student Athletes, and their families meet with the Academic Center for Student Athletes.
