The Department of Mathematical Sciences staffs 28 full-time faculty members and approximately 50 part-time faculty members with expertise in theoretical and applied mathematics, mathematics education, developmental mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, data science, and mathematical physics. Our mission is to provide students with the quantitative and pedagogical skills that they will need for teaching, business, industry, and research. We also provide students in the Schools of Business and Education, the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and other departments within the School of Engineering, Science, and Technology, with mathematics, statistics, and data science courses needed for success in their fields.
