Functional Movement and Posture Screens

Functional Movement Screen (FMS) helps determine strengths and weaknesses before beginning an exercise program. Testing includes deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunch, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, trunk stability pushup, and quadruped rotary stability test.

Testing takes approximately 60 minutes; report includes an overview of the test and results, as well as a personal consultation to discuss ways to improve flexibility, range of motion, and overall movement.

Date: Upon receipt of payment, assessment will be scheduled by appointment
Location: Exercise Physiology Lab Room 006, Kaiser Building
Fee: $75/test

Additional options include:

  • A 6-week exercise program* with the goal of improving on areas identified through testing. Focus is on flexibility, range of motion, and overall movement; however, may include other goals discussed with fitness professional. *Does not include one on one training or instruction of the exercise program

Date: Upon receipt of payment and initial FMS screening (not included), a 6-week program will be developed
Location: N/A
Fee: $150/program

  • Follow up screening with an overview of the test and results, as well as a personal consultation to discuss ways to continue to improve or maintain flexibility, range of motion, and overall movement.

Date: Upon receipt of payment, assessment will be scheduled by appointment
Location: Exercise Physiology Lab Room 006, Kaiser Building
Fee: $50/test

The assessments are run by the Physical Education and Human Performance department at CCSU and is focused on providing high quality, gold standard, fitness assessments for athletes and active individuals seeking to analyze and understand current health and fitness levels.
