  • Designed for lifelong learners seeking to enjoy the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with an educational focus, led by Central professors and staff, in collaboration with Queen Margaret University (QMU).
  • Fringe Festival immersion: Attend multiple performances across diverse venues, from traditional theaters to unconventional spaces.
  • Cultural and historical explorations:
    • Walk the Royal Mile and tour Edinburgh Castle.
    • Enjoy a scenic Maid of the Forth boat trip.
    • Take guided tours of Calton Hill and The Real Mary King’s Close, exploring how history and heritage shape modern events.
    • Embark on a full-day excursion to Loch Ness and the Highlands, gaining insights into Scotland’s tourism industry and its link to large-scale events.

      • Important note: This rate does not include international airfare. The program officially begins with a group meet-up in Edinburgh on August 8 and concludes with dismissal in on the morning of August 16, 2026.
    3. How much is the deposit?

      • $500 non-refundable deposit
    4. When do I pay?

      • The $500 non-refundable deposit will be charged shortly after you register for the program.
      • The remaining balance will be charged around April 15, 2026.
    5. How do I pay for the travel cost?

      • Central faculty, staff, and students: Charges will appear in Central Pipeline, and payment is made directly through the Bursar. Paying by check is recommended to avoid credit card fees.
      • Participants without a Central ID number: An online payment link will be provided.
    6. What is the accommodation like?

      • You will stay at the Queen Margaret University (QMU) dormitories. Each participant enjoys a private single bedroom within a shared apartment (typically 4–5 bedrooms). Each flat features a fully equipped self-catering kitchen and a comfortable common living area, perfect for bonding with your flatmates.
    7. Will I have access to university resources?

      • Absolutely! As a program participant, you can utilize:
        • Academic Hubs: Full access to the QMU Library and campus facilities.
        • Stay Connected: High-speed Wi-Fi throughout the campus.
        • Fitness: Access to the campus gym, weight room, and fitness classes at a discounted student rate.
    8. What can I expect from the guest lectures?

      • You’ll attend exclusive sessions led by distinguished QMU faculty. These lectures dive deep into specialized topics such as Festival Management, Sustainability, and Local History. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn from global experts in their fields!
    9. Will I have free time to explore?

      • Yes! The itinerary is designed to balance structured learning with ample free time, allowing you to immerse yourself in the local culture and explore at your own pace.
    10. Is insurance included in the program fee?

      • Medical Insurance: Yes. International medical insurance is provided through CISI.
      • Travel Insurance: No. While not included in the price, we strongly recommend purchasing a travel insurance policy to cover trip cancellations or personal property.
    11. Can students earn academic credit?

      • Yes. Students should work with the program’s faculty leader to explore independent study options. Summer tuition applies.
