On Feb. 5, Dr. Peggy Ann Bloomer, assistant professor of Art & Design at Central, visited Norwich Technical High School to meet with students in the Graphic Design & Digital Media program. Hosted by Julie Watt, MFA, department head of Graphic Design & Digital Media, the visit focused on design education, creative career pathways, and opportunities for continued learning beyond high school.
This outreach reflects Central’s continued commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and expanding access to creative, career-ready educational pathways for Connecticut students.
During the visit, students participated in discussions around design practice, visual communication, and postsecondary study, demonstrating exceptional engagement, professionalism, and curiosity. The visit marks the beginning of a growing relationship between Central and Norwich Tech, with plans underway to welcome students to Central for a campus visit and to explore future dual-enrollment options as they continue to develop.
“I’m glad we are beginning this connection between our schools, and I look forward to building it further,” said Dr. Bloomer. “The students were incredibly well-prepared, thoughtful, and a joy to work with.”
