This is an unofficial description for this program. For official information check the Academic Catalog.
The MS Mechanical Engineering Program helps engineers with an undergraduate degree enter a new phase in their careers. They will build technical expertise in a subset of mechanical engineering such as Manufacturing and Design, Thermo-Fluids and Energy, or Controls, Dynamics, and Aerospace Systems. Students will learn to apply their acquired knowledge and insight into professional practice. Along the way students will engage in original research, pushing the boundaries of human knowledge, and they will learn how to share their hard-won insights with the wider engineering community. By doing so they will be well positioned to address the current and future challenges facing society.
