Opportunities for the Non-Music Major 

Every student at Central Connecticut State University is invited to participate in the Department of Music ensembles. Some require an audition, but others do not (see below). We also offer several classes designed for the students of all majors who wish to gain a basic understanding of specific areas of music (see course listing below).

Performing Ensembles

Jazz, Big Band*, or Combos*: Dr. Carl Knox 

*Certain ensembles require an audition or consultation with the ensemble director. Contact the professor for specific requirements.

Private Lessons

In order to enroll in private lessons, students must meet with the Department of Music Chair, Dr. Carlotta Parr, to declare a music minor.
