Kevin Oliva, beloved son, husband, father, and brother and one of the most devoted Central Blue Devils, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2021.
The news of Kevin's passing was shocking. He was one of those positive, energetic people whose good nature and kindness touched the lives of thousands of Central students, staff, and faculty during his 25 years of service. Over the years, Kevin held assistant director and director positions in the offices of Residence Life, Alumni Affairs, Graduate Admissions, and Undergraduate Admissions. Since 2005, Kevin held the position of Director of the Academic Center for Student Athletes, where he worked with student-athletes providing support and advisement to encourage their success in both the classroom and life.
Kevin exemplified persistence and kindness, two traits very close to his heart. Kevin was at his best professionally when working with struggling students who persevered, overcoming obstacles so they may pursue opportunities. And everyone who knew Kevin knew how much kindness meant to him and how he not only exhibited it himself, but also brought it out in others.
