Fulbright U.S. Scholars Program

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program connects faculty, administrators, researchers, artists, and professionals with institutions worldwide to exchange expertise, strengthen international partnerships, and address shared challenges. More than 400 opportunities in over 135 countries support teaching, research, and professional projects across a broad range of disciplines and career stages.

 Application Timeline

Applications typically open in February and are due each September. Applicants are encouraged to explore available awards and attend Fulbright webinars to learn about the application process, award opportunities, and eligibility requirements.

  • Eligibility

    • Be a U.S. citizen by the application deadline. Non-U.S. citizens should explore the Fulbright Non-U.S. Scholar Program
    • Be a faculty member, administrator, researcher, artist, or experienced professional.
    • Meet the education, degree, or professional qualifications required for the selected award.
    • Satisfy any residency, language proficiency, or country-specific requirements.
    • Comply with Fulbright policies regarding previous awards and employment restrictions.
