(See Step 4)

Step 1: Submit Graduate Application

Complete your graduate admissions application online and submit your $50 application fee. Note: Errors, omissions, or missing transcripts delay processing of your file.

Step 2: Submit Official Transcripts

Contact previous institutions you attended (undergraduate and graduate) and request an official transcript be sent directly to the CCSU Graduate Recruitment & Admissions Office. This includes transcripts for courses taken and transferred to another institution. An official transcript:

  1. Comes directly from the issuing institution via postal mail, in an envelope from the applicant sealed by the issuing institution, or via an electronic transcript sent to graduateadmissions@ccsu.edu from the issuing institution through a trusted third-party vendor that requires authentication
  2. Bears the institutional seal, and
  3. Bears the official signature of the Registrar (or Recorder of Records).

Note: original study abroad transcripts may be needed and requested.

Applicants who hold a master's degree from a regionally accredited university with a 3.00 or higher GPA on a 4.00 scale need only request that official transcripts be sent from the institution where the undergraduate degree was obtained and from where the master's degree was obtained. However, students who do not hold a master's degree must submit official transcripts from each institution where any undergraduate and/or graduate level courses were taken.

The Graduate Recruitment and Admissions office maintains the right to request other official transcripts to review courses that are essential to the applicant's program of study. Failure to identify on the application form all institutions attended, or to submit transcripts from each of them, may be considered sufficient reason for non-admission or for subsequent dismissal from the graduate program.

If electronic transcript service is not available at any of your previous institutions, please request that official hard copy transcripts be sent to CCSU, Graduate Recruitment and Admissions, 1615 Stanley Street, Davidson Hall Rm 116, New Britain, CT 06050

Step 3: Check for Program Specific Admissions Requirements

Green Card holders are to send a photocopy of the front and back of the green card or proof of eligible non-citizenship to the graduate recruitment and admissions office. International applicants with a current VISA or Passport are to send a copy to the graduate recruitment and admissions office. International applicants should also be aware of their additional requirements for admission. Learn more about additional admissions requirements for international applicants.
