Science Education

The CCSU Science Education program coordinates the teacher preparation programs at the University along with the Biology and Chemistry Departments. Our graduates teach in middle and high schools throughout Connecticut and New England and often serve as cooperating teachers for the next generation of students. This program is for Undergraduate BSED Candidates and Post-Baccalaureate Certification.

We also provide a Master of Science in STEM Education for certified teachers. This program is for elementary and secondary teachers who are interested in enhancing their understanding of science, technology, and math content and pedagogy.

For those teachers who have a BS degree in science (biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics) who are interested in certification, there is also the Master in Arts in Teaching.

The School of Education and Professional Studies administers the elementary education programs in Science Education. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Marsha Bednarski or Dr. Jeff Thomas.
