The Center for Community Engagement and Social Research (CCESR) at CCSU works to build mutually beneficial relationships with various community partners across the City of New Britain and surrounding towns. We look to collaborate by identifying community-identified needs and opportunities to work on shared initiatives, exchanging knowledge and skills by way of:
- Connecting community partners with expert faculty research teams who can work to collect and analyze beneficial data from shared research or collaborate on service-learning projects with their classes to share expertise and resources
- Connecting CCSU students across a wide range of departments who are looking for volunteer and/or internship opportunities
Our Center looks to gain insight from our community partners, benefiting from their knowledge and years of experience across a wide array of areas. Partnering with faculty can help form and deepen lasting relationships around collective goals and initiatives. These collaborative efforts will assist both the University and our Community Partners continue to support and uplift the communities in which we serve and take part in.
One way we can best serve our Community Partners is to document all we do to work together. Collaboratory provides the best way to systematically track our involvement in the community, as well as our faculty engaged research and service. You can search by organization, event, faculty member, and internship opportunities. Once we work with a community partner, we will log it into Collaboratory and make it easier to work together in the future.
