The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) student section at Central Connecticut State University was founded in 2004 by Dr. Nidal AL-Masoud. Over the years, the CCSU-ASME student section has managed to grow, constantly attract students to be part of this prestigious professional organization. Our student section is responsible for organizing a group of events during the last couple of years aiming to initiate the feeling of fellowship between students while encouraging them to increase their knowledge and technical expertise in the field of mechanical engineering. These activities include organizing the Hartford area Student Paper Night, organizing several tours to local industries and factories, Technical Lectures Series and many other activities.

We are an entirely student run organization, our goal is to provide our fellow engineering students with the opportunity to learn more about mechanical engineering, and to develop their technical, communication and social skills through on- and off- campus activities.
