Five Year Accelerated Program in Psychological Science
Requirement Narrative
Eligible students can apply for admission to the Five Year Accelerated B.A./M.A. in the Spring of their third year of full-time study. Selected students will be able to complete a B.A. in Psychological Science and a M.A. in Psychology in 5 years. For accepted students, three graduate courses will double-count as three undergraduate Psychological Science elective courses. Students apply in the Spring of their third year of full-time study and must meet the requirements specified below:
- Completed 83 earned credit hours by the end of the Fall semester of their third year of full-time study. At least 30 credits must have been earned at CCSU.
- Completed PSY 301 and 302 (research methods) with at least a B.
- Have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average.
- Have at least a 3.0 grade point average in Psychological Science courses.
How to apply
Students will submit a personal statement, and one recommendation letter from a CCSU Psychology professor by August 1st.
Note: After acceptance, students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
*The personal statement should present the applicants professional goals, any specific experiences that helped prepare applicants for the MA psychology program, such as relevant employment, research or training, internships, etc.
