Research Compliance Procedures

Central Connecticut State University (Central) is committed to fostering a culture of research excellence grounded in integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct. As a recipient of external funding from federal, state, and private sponsors, the university is responsible for ensuring that all research and sponsored activities are conducted in accordance with all current applicable federal laws, regulations, sponsor requirements, and institutional policies.

The Office of Grants and Funded Research provides guidance and oversight to help faculty, staff, and student researchers meet these responsibilities. The information on this page outlines the university's expectations for responsible conduct in research, financial conflict of interest, research security, federal certifications and assurances, and other regulatory compliance requirements. Together, these guidelines protect the integrity of the research enterprise, promote public trust, and support the university's mission of advancing knowledge through responsible scholarship.

CCSU Institutional Policy for External Grant Proposal Submission: All grant applications or contracts which propose to use Central personnel, facilities (including computer facilities), or other resources, must be approved by an authorized University representative. Institutional officials will sign the title page of a grant application or contract proposal once a proposal is complete, has been reviewed by the Grants & Funded Research Office, and has been approved by the appropriate academic and administrative officials.

According to Board of Trustees Policy, those authorized to sign applications and proposals for external funding at Central are:
