Post-Baccalaureate Certification

For students who have earned a bachelor's degree, you may become certified by completing CCSU's Teachers Certification Program. This program prepares you to become certified, but does not lead to a Master's degree. The Master in Arts in Teaching is an option for those interested in an accelerated program.

To apply to the Post-Baccalaureate program, you must be admitted to the CCSU Graduate School; information can be found at the Graduate School Website. In addition, there will be a review of your transcripts. The Professional School of Education and Professional Studies will assess the general education and certification requirements while the science department will assess the science content courses.

Once you are accepted and complete a program plan, then you are ready to begin your coursework. This typically takes a minimum of three semesters to complete the Professional Program, excluding the science content course that may be needed for certification.
