Opening reception: Latino Heritage Through Student Art & History

All are welcome to attend the opening reception of Latino Heritage Through Student Art & History at New Britain City Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. A program will begin at 6 p.m.

Artwork by students in Sociology 250 - Latina Identity and Empowerment will be on display as part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in New Britain. Historical documents about the Borinqueneers regiment from Leah Glaser in History will also be featured in the exhibit.

The artworks were created by current students and alumni and reflect their lived experiences of Latino, Caribbean, Puerto Rican, South American, and Indigenous culture.

The exhibit will be up through mid-October.

City Hall is at 27 West Main St., New Britain. The reception will take place on the second floor.
