Leslie Leeds Poetry Prize

The English Department is pleased to announce the Leeds Poetry Prize. Former English professor Barry Leeds created the prize to celebrate the memory of his daughter Leslie.

Prize Guidelines

The Leeds poetry prize seeks previously unpublished poems from CCSU students.

Prize: $100 cash award.
Two runners-up will receive $25.

Publication: The winning poem, and two runners-up will be published in the English department’s online magazine, Blue Muse.

Deadline: April 6, 2018

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled at CCSU

Submit: via email to bluemusemag@gmail.com / Subject: Leeds Poetry Submission
Poets may submit up to two poems. No more than one poem per page.

Format: Submit poems as Word doc attachments.

  • Please include your name, year in school, email and cell phone with your submission.
  • Each poem should have a title.
  • Poems should be single-spaced.

Notification: Winners will be notified by the end of April. Prizes will be awarded at the end-of-the year departmental awards presentation.
