The University of Galway, founded in 1845, has over 17,000 students and 2,000 international students from 92 countries. It is located in the city of Galway, one of the fasting growing cities in Europe. Galway is young at heart, with students making up 20% of the population here. It is the most international place in Ireland with one in four people born outside of the state. Galway is a cultural center, attracting thousand to the many festivals throughout the year, which include The Cuirt International Festival of Literature, Galway Arts Festival, Galway Races, and the Oyster
