Currently working as a private practice therapist (LCSW).
Her training at CCSU helped develop strong clinical and academic writing skills. I absolutely attribute my successes to the education I received at CCSU!
Katie was married in 2015 and they have a 19-month-old son, Stratton!

Currently working at the May Center as a registered behavioral technician.

Christine recently married another CCSU alum, Justin Burgess. They met at CCSU through the fraternity programs they were in!
Madison Bracken ‘17
Currently in her 2nd year as a graduate student in their Social Psychology Program at UMASS-Amherst. Madison recently got engaged in 2018 and had plans to get married this fall, but due to COVID has postponed the wedding until next year. Madison and her fiancé recently bought their first home and got their 7-year-old dog, Millie, a little brother puppy named Gus!
Brenda Russell, ’92 and ‘94
Brenda is a Professor of Psychology at Penn State Berks. She received both her BA and MA from CCSU and completed her Ph.D. from St. Louis University in 1999. Dr. Russell has just finished her 4th book with a contract from a 5th book with Oxford University Press. She continues to teach, conduct research, and testify in trials. The best thing is her new grand-daughter!
Stephen Hard ‘05
Stephen is currently working as a lecturer with CCSU’s Department of Psychological Science. While at CCSU as a student, the Psychological Science Department's heavy use of a wide variety of technologies before they became ubiquitous was enormously helpful in several positions I held and has positioned me to handle the pedagogical challenges posed by the pandemic.
Maggie Albright-Pierce ‘17
Maggie is currently a Ph.D. student and researcher at Rutgers University. The quality instruction that I received in health and community psychology, the opportunity working with Dr. J in his Masculinity Lab, and the internship Dr. D got for me at UCONN Health Center were all instrumental in securing me a position in Rutgers Social/Health Psychology PhD program. I greatly appreciate the mentorship that I received and the opportunities to grow at CCSU. Getting my BS as a small liberal arts school had a lot of benefits, but it also meant that I didn't have lab experience or a chance to do a capstone, so I wasn't "PhD material" after graduation. Not only did CCSU fill those gaps for me, I got to explore more topics that I'm passionate about. That passion and that experience both contributed to my competence as a health coach and solidified my path to continued graduate training.
Katrina Steady ‘08
Katrina is currently working at Pratt & Whitney as a Senior Manager of Learning and Development. She feels that CCSU helped to find my destiny – I identified what I truly loved from the research I did and the guidance I received from my professors. She went onto earn an MS in Sport Psychology from Barry University. She is married with a 1 year old, Skylar Steady, and live in Colchester, CT.
