Concentration in Personal Financial Planning

B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Personal Financial Planning (PFP) at Central is registered and regulated by the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards. Central’s PFP degree program is the first CFP Board Registered Program in Connecticut. Upon completion of a B.S. in Finance with Concentration in PFP at Central, you will be eligible to take the CFP® Certification Examination.

    1. Rigorous Coursework: Central’s PFP program is designed in alignment with the CFP Board's Principal Knowledge Topics and Learning Objectives. Your learning outcomes encompass financial knowledge in the general principles of financial planning, professional conduct and regulation, risk management and insurance planning, investment planning, tax planning, retirement savings and income planning, estate planning, and the psychology of financial planning.
    2. Business degree emphasis. Our PFP program provides a solid business foundation, encompassing courses in finance, accounting, management, marketing, management information systems, business analytics, and business law.

    You will learn from full-time professors who have specialized experience in personal financial planning, investment, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning, individual income taxes, and related professional areas.
