J-1 exchange students attending CCSU from our Partner Universities abroad must obtain written permission from their home university before considering extending their program end date past the initial date identified upon initial arrival at CCSU.
Since CCSU honors the exchange student relationship with its partner universities, students from those schools must request that a written Statement of Approval to extend their program beyond the specified date be sent to the International Education Coordinator the Center for International Education as the first step of the process along with an Exchange Affidavit of Support.
It is important to note that, even if permission to apply is granted by the home institution, there is no guarantee that the DS-2019 extension will be approved.
