Join the Polish Studies Program at Central for a screening of Agnieszka Holland's award-winning film, "Green Border" (2023), and a conversation with human rights activists Kalina Czwarnóg and Anna Sikora, from the Ocalenie Foundation (Warsaw, Poland).
Moderated by Dr. Karolina Kołpak, the Stanislaus A. Blejwas Endowed Chair in Polish and Polish American Studies at Central, the discussion will examine the humanitarian crisis Polish-Belarusian border in the context of international humanitarian law and European Union law. It will also explore the on-the-ground rescue work of activists from the Ocalenie Foundation and other NGOs working on behalf of migrant and refugee rights in Poland and the EU.
