Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot is an AI‑powered assistant available to all university faculty, staff, and students through their Central Microsoft 365 account. This version of Copilot can be accessed through the web at https://copilot.microsoft.com and supports everyday tasks such as brainstorming ideas, summarizing information, drafting content, and answering questions using public data, all within a secure university‑authenticated environment. For faculty and staff who want deeper integration with their daily Microsoft tools, Copilot for Microsoft 365 is available as an optional paid add‑on licensed on a yearly basis. This version works directly inside applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint, allowing faculty and staff to generate drafts, analyze data, summarize emails and meetings, and collaborate more efficiently using their own work content. campusGenAI
Central Connecticut State University is advancing a campus-wide approach to generative artificial intelligence that prepares students, faculty, and staff to understand, use, and shape AI responsibly. Rather than treating generative AI as a tool limited to computer science or technical fields, Central is building a broader AI ecosystem that supports teaching, learning, research, workforce development, and institutional innovation across the university.
campusGen AI is focused on making artificial intelligence practical, accessible, and relevant in a multi-tool AI model “garden” which allows students, faculty and staff to compare and contrast how different AI tools function. If you are interested in being part of the pilot for campusGen AI, please email techsupport@ccsu.edu with your request.
