This is a non-degree program whose coursework to can lead to the Reading and Language Arts Consultant endorsement (#097) in the state of Connecticut. Applicants are expected to hold a Master's degree or a Sixth Year Certificate in Reading and Language Arts with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale. Applicants must also hold the Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts endorsement (#102 in the state of Connecticut) and have 3 years of teaching experience.
Please note that to apply to the state of Connecticut for the 097 endorsement you must have worked under the 102 endorsement for a minimum of 10 months. You do not need to have worked under the 102 endorsement to take courses in this program.

LLA 692 Specialized Diagnosis and Intervention 3 Credits
LLA 624 Practicum for Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach I 3 Credits
LLA 626 Practicum for Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach II 3 Credits
A course on Children’s or Adolescent Literature is also required by the state of Connecticut, if not successfully completed in previous studies
