Dr. Lori Blake is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education in the department of Literacy, elementary, and Early Childhood Education. She also serves as an adjunct instructor teaching adult learning theory. Dr. Blake was formerly at Goodwin University (previously College), having established a NAEYC accredited Associate in Early Childhood Education degree, written and established the Bachelor degree in Child Study, and played an integral role in the founding of the early childhood magnet school at Goodwin University. She has spent over 20 years in higher education and over 25 years in the field of early childhood education. She has held positions such as education consultant, accreditation facilitator, trainer, center director, and preschool teacher in addition to her work in higher education. Her research work largely focuses on early childhood leadership practices, play-based learning, self-regulation development, and anti-bias education practices. She currently serves as the co-president for the Connecticut Association for the Education of Young Children, is an OEC approved trainer and education consultant, and is an approved Infant/toddler and Preschool Pyramid Model Trainer and Programs for Infants and Toddlers (PITC) Trainer.
