Biography

Dr. Christopher Boafo is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management and Organization at the CCSU School of Business. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of British Columbia and the University of Leipzig.

He earned his Ph.D. in Management Science, specializing in Business Administration, with Summa Cum Laude honors from the Faculty of Economics and Management Science at the University of Leipzig, an institution accredited by EQUIS and AACSB. He teaches courses in entrepreneurship, international business, strategic management, and SME training and development.

His research focuses on strategy and international business, particularly international entrepreneurship, SME internationalization, university-business internationalization, and various forms of entrepreneurship, including informal, Indigenous, disability, and community-based. Recently, his work has focused on advancing the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education framework, highlighting universities' essential role in serving the public good through their third mission. His work has appeared in the Academy of International Business (AIB) Insights, International Small Business Journal, Thunderbird International Business Review, International Journal of Management Education, and the Africa Journal of Management.

He has worked in Africa (Rwanda and Ghana), Europe (Germany and Switzerland), and North America (Canada and USA) as an academic in higher education and as an international consultant for development organizations, including the International Trade Center, a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.

He is guided by the principle of Ubuntu: "I am because we are / I am because you are / Humanity towards others." True to his name, Boafo, which means Helper, he is committed to supporting others, especially individuals from and organizations serving underrepresented communities.
