Is the program accredited?
Yes. The Baccalaureate degree program in nursing (BSN), the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN), the Master's degree program in nursing (MSN) and the post-graduate APRN certificate program are all accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Where can I schedule an appointment to have someone review my coursework?
The Nursing Department does not review coursework or transcripts prior to the application through the Admissions Office. Applying to the University initiates the formal review process, during which coursework completed elsewhere will be evaluated.

What happens if my GPA is not 3.00 and I am therefore not admitted into the Nursing program?
Yes, you can reapply to the Nursing Program during the next open application cycle.
Where do the students do their clinical rotations?
The Nursing Department has established contracts for clinical placements with several hospitals and health care agencies in the greater Hartford area. At times, agencies outside the Hartford area may also be used. Students do not have the option to choose their clinical rotation site.
Does your department assist with Financial Aid?
No. The CCSU Nursing Department does not assist with or provide any financial guidance.

No. Online science courses and online laboratory courses are not accepted for credit in the CCSU Nursing Program.
How long does it take to complete the BSN program?
The CCSU Nursing Program is designed to be completed over three years.
Can I still apply to the ABSN program if I am missing a lab or other prerequisite courses?
You are welcome to apply; however, please note that candidates who have completed all prerequisites are also applying. All prerequisite courses should be completed before submitting your application. You may be considered for conditional acceptance, which is contingent upon successfully completing any missing prerequisite courses.
Is it okay to mail in letters or recommendations?
Required admission materials and letters of recommendation must be uploaded to Admissions during the application process.

What are the requirements for transferring to CCSU?
As a transfer student interested in pre-nursing, you should have a minimum of a 3.00 GPA, a ‘C+’ or better in all science courses required for the nursing program, if completed, a grade of ‘C+’ or higher in CHEM 161, 162: General Chemistry I or its equivalent, and a ‘B-’ or better in any nursing courses previously taken.

Does the Nursing Program offer evening or night courses?
The Nursing Program does not include or offer any evening or night courses.

What is the ‘TEAS’?
The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is a multiple-choice test that evaluates the following skills: Math, Science, Reading and English. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.
The TEAS is used in nursing programs across the country.
