Maximize Your Impact Through a Donor-Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF), similar to a charitable savings account, offers a flexible and strategic way to support Central and other nonprofit organizations you care about. With a DAF, you can suggest how much to distribute and when, giving you full control over the timing and frequency of your gifts.
You have the option to recommend one-time or recurring grants to make an immediate difference, or you can reserve the fund for future philanthropic goals.
You can leave a lasting impact by designating Central as the beneficiary of your donor-advised fund, either for the full balance or a specific percentage. By choosing a percentage, you also have the opportunity to pass on your philanthropic values by naming your loved ones as successors, allowing them to continue recommending grants to charitable causes. To get started, reach out to your fund administrator to request a beneficiary designation form.
Joe and Laura are committed to giving back to the community where they grew up, and they want their contributions to make a meaningful impact. To do this, they open a $25,000 donor advised fund through a community foundation.
Their gift qualifies them for a federal income tax charitable deduction, and they have the flexibility to take their time in choosing which causes to support.
Working with the foundation’s staff to understand local needs, Joe and Laura recommend grants to Central, an organization they've supported for many years, and to the Animal Rescue League. The foundation issues the grants from the Megan Fund, named in honor of their granddaughter. Joe and Laura are proud to begin building a lasting legacy of giving.
