Subcommittees

Curriculum Subcommittee

Members (7): Matthew Martin, Beth Merenstein, Laura Minor, Julie Schnobrich-Davis, Nghi Thai, Eleanor Thornton, Fu-Shang Wei

This subcommittee will pursue the following activities as stated in the committee by-laws:

  • Develop Community Engagement curriculum for students that addresses issues regarding the Community Engagement minor and CEN 200 course development.
Policies & Practices Subcommittee

Members (4): Kris Larsen, Mohammad Rahman, Nghi Thai, Catherine Thomas

This subcommittee will pursue the following activities as stated in the committee by-laws:

  • Propose policies and/or resources that will incentivize faculty to implement community engagement and/or service-learning activities (i.e., funding opportunities, load-credit support, P&T guidelines, writing groups, publishing and presentation venues). 
Resource Development Subcommittee

Members (9): Gwen Braithwaite, Cheryl Crespi, Joss French, Amy Gagnon, Jessica Hernandez, Charisse Levchak, Matt Martin, Olga Petkova, Young Sohn

This subcommittee will pursue the following activities as stated in the committee by-laws:

  • Provide opportunities for faculty to develop the capacity to implement community engagement and/or service-learning initiatives (i.e., workshops, web-based material);
  • Partner with CCSU offices to develop resources and opportunities that support faculty initiation of community engagement and service-learning activities, such as but not limited to the Office of Community Engagement, Provost, Deans, and CACE. 
Grants & Awards Subcommittee

Members (12): Gwen Braithwaite, Michele Dischino, Beth Ghiloni-Wage, Tan Leng Goh, Jessica Hernandez, Heidi Hughes, Charisse Levchak, Matthew Martin, Brian Osoba, Olga Petkova, Reginald Simmons, Robbin Smith

This subcommittee will pursue the following activities:

  • Develop, implement, review, and assess the Community Engagement Grant Awards.
  • In collaboration with the Resource Development Subcommittee, they will provide mentorship to recipients of the Community Engagement Grant Awards.
