Lecture: An Afro-Caribbean in the Nazi Era

February 20, 2024
10:50 AM - 12:05 PM

How did an Afro-Caribbean civilian become a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II? What did he witness? How did he survive to talk about it? This presentation by guest lecturer Mary Romney-Schaab answers these questions through the story of Lionel Romney, one of the few Black people to survive the Nazi camps.

The lecture will take place at the Vance Academic Center, Room 105.

Presented by the African American Studies Program Carter C. Woodson Lecture Series.
