Program Overview
The Sixth-Year certificate program is a post-master’s degree program for experienced teachers seeking Intermediate Administration and Supervision 092 Certification. This program is designed to provide rigorous, yet practical preparation for candidates who seek educational administrator positions. 092 Certification is required for any educational administrative position including the Department Chair, Assistant Principal and Principal, up to and including the Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Connecticut.
Program Objectives
The program is designed to enable candidates to shape organizational direction; effect institutional planning and development; and influence organizational performance. Notable features of the program include rigorous entry standards; a strong curriculum presented by resident faculty and practitioner colleagues; a qualifying examination for certification; and required field experiences. Our course of study exceeds the minimum requirements established by the State of Connecticut for certification.
CT 092 Certification: Application Steps
- Log in to the Connecticut Education Certification System (CECS) and click "Apply Online".
- Select the 092 certification endorsement.
- Submit an application. Application fee: $100.
- Complete the highlighted sections of the ED 170A form.
- Email the completed form to Dr. Daisy Torres-Hill, Assistant Dean and Certification Officer, at dtorres-hill1@ccsu.edu.
- Once all program and assessment requirements are verified, the Certification Officer will complete the remaining sections and submit the institutional recommendation to the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE).
- Institutional recommendations will be submitted in batches to the state on the 15th of each month.
- Ensure ED 126 form is completed by Human Resources to document your 50 months of service. Write your EIN number on the envelope and mail to CSDE using the address provided below.
- Request transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
- Wait until your CCSU degree is officially posted before sending your CCSU transcript.
- We strongly recommend mailing your transcripts directly to the state. Send transcripts (include your EIN on the envelope) by mail to CSDE:
