Ritzenhoff awarded Connecticut–Baden-Württemberg Faculty Mobility Grant
Professor Karen A. Ritzenhoff in the Department of Communication has been selected for the Connecticut–Baden-Württemberg Faculty Mobility Program. This fall, Dr. Ritzenhoff will travel to Germany to engage in teaching, research, and her newly published book in Germany.
As part of the program, Dr. Ritzenhoff will deliver a lecture at Central’s partner institution, the University of Konstanz, titled “From ‘Harriet’ to ‘Queen and Slim’: Contemporary African American Women Filmmakers.” She will also visit another partner university, the University of Tübingen.
The Baden-Württemberg–Connecticut Exchange was established in 1989 through a legislative partnership between the U.S. state of Connecticut and the German state of Baden-Württemberg. For more than three decades, institutions of higher education in both regions have collaborated successfully, with a strong focus on student exchange. In 2019, the program expanded to include faculty mobility, further strengthening international academic cooperation.
