Summer Bridge Frequently Asked Questions

First-time, first year students entering Central in the Fall semester may be considered if they meet eligibility requirements for the EOP, TRiO-SSS, Travelers Edge, and/or CARE Scholars program.

There is no cost to participate for students admitted into the summer program; housing, meals, and books will be provided to every student during the summer.

EOP students will confirm their participation in the summer bridge program when they pay the $200 enrollment deposit fee or accept the enrollment deposit waiver offered through the Pell Promise (for those who qualify).

No, students are not permitted to have a job during the five weeks of the summer program. Courses and required activities are scheduled from 8am-9pm. Students are not allowed to leave campus during the week.

Yes, all students are required to live on campus for the summer program. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for religious or medical reasons.

Students are expected to be on-campus from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon and may go home on the weekends.

Yes, you may have a car on campus, however, students are expected to stay on campus grounds during the week and are not allowed to use their vehicles until they leave for the weekend.

Yes! This information is necessary to ensure you are placed in the appropriate summer and fall courses. You will receive a survey before the summer program starts where you should indicate if you expect credits coming in.

  • For AP Classes: Contact the College Board and request that your scores be sent to CCSU for all courses taken. Please contact CCSU admissions after a week to ensure that your scores were received.
  • ECE Courses: Request an official transcript from the university that offered the ECE course be sent to the CCSU admissions office.

You will receive housing selection information through your CCSU portal. The Housing deposit fee may be waived if you qualify for the Pell Promise.

  • You must submit the emergency medical form sent before the summer bridge program starts.
