Step 1: Filling out the Initial Consultation Request Form
The first step of any Personal Training package is completed by filling out and submitting a Free Initial Consultation Request Form using the link above. This non-binding form creates an opportunity for a personal trainer to learn about their potential clients, which includes sections such as the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PARQ), daily nutrition and activity habits, as well scheduling preferences.

Step 2: Getting to the Initial Consultation
After submitting the Initial Consultation Request Form, a trainer will contact you within 24-48 hours to set up a date for the Free Initial Consultation. The Initial Consultation boils down to a conversation between the trainer and the client, going through the PARQ, and ensuring that both parties understand the goals and expectations of every subsequent session.

Step 3: The Fitness Assessment
The Fitness Assessment serves to provide each personal trainer an opportunity to analyze a client’s ability to perform simple to mildly challenging movements, as well as record physiological data that can be referred to when tracking progress. Fitness Assessments are free and typically occur at both the start and end of a package, with a 6 to 8-week gap in between. Once the Fitness Assessment has concluded, the exercise sessions can properly begin!

Step 4: The Session
Every session goes for about an hour, on a day and time that is agreed upon by both the trainer and the client. Sign up through https://RECentralPersonalTraining

Meet the Trainers

Hi! My name is Jack Hull, and I am a Junior at CCSU studying Exercise Science. I am a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM, and I have been a trainer at RECentral for over a year. I have been consistently working out for more than six years. I currently do powerlifting, having won four different competitions, and I just competed in a bodybuilding show. Whatever your objectives are, I will provide you with a concise and well-rounded program along with quality guidance to help you achieve your specific fitness goals!

Hi! My name is Tyler Santiago and I am currently a junior at CCSU. As a personal trainer, I thrive on helping others reach their fitness goals and become the best version of themselves. We all start somewhere but the most important part is actually starting! I would love to share my knowledge about training and to be a key part of your fitness journey.

Hi! My name is Sydney Blyler. I’m a senior here at Central, studying Exercise Science. I am thrilled to be a part of the Rec Central staff and have the opportunity to work with and alongside CCSU students. I began my fitness journey ~10 years ago, starting with CrossFit kids. I’ve explored different exercise modalities including CrossFit, running, weightlifting, Pilates, yoga, spin, competitive sports, etc. I’m a certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor. My goal is to get people moving their bodies and leaving the Rec with a smile on their face!
