Dr. Dana Wilkie, associate dean of the School of Business, was recently selected to serve on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Employer Engagement Strategy Task Force, a group working to strengthen how employers participate in and connect with the association.
The task force is drawing on findings from a recent NACE employer perception study, and it is tasked with turning those insights into practical ways for employers to connect, contribute, and find greater value in their involvement.
One priority is expanding learning opportunities. Task force members will help shape content for the Employer Learning Lab, a day-and-a-half program focused on building and strengthening internship programs, and they will contribute to the Employer Learning Path curriculum. They also will work with NACE staff on a web-based onboarding program for new recruiters, covering topics such as campus and virtual recruiting events.
The group also is identifying effective ways employers can engage with NACE, from research and speaking opportunities to leadership, partnerships, and content contributions. The goal is to make those pathways clearer and demonstrate how engagement can lead to lasting participation and, ultimately, membership growth.
Another major focus is peer-to-peer outreach. The task force also will develop recommendations for activating employer and career services members as ambassadors who can introduce colleagues and employer partners to NACE opportunities.
