18th Annual Global Environmental Sustainability Symposium Keynote - Julie Forgues (4/3/25, 4:15 PM)
The Department of Art & Design fosters creative inquiry, critical thinking, visual
communication, and professional practice across the disciplines of art, graphic/information design, and art education.
Students develop the conceptual, technical, and analytical skills needed to engage contemporary
culture, contribute to their communities, and pursue careers as artists, designers, educators,
researchers, and creative leaders.
Through studio practice, design research, historical inquiry, emerging technologies, and
community engagement, students explore how visual expression and human-centered design
shape understanding, communication, and experience. Faculty are active artists, designers,
scholars, and educators whose work is exhibited, published, and recognized regionally,
nationally, and internationally.
