Academic Misconduct Report

This form is intended for use by instructors to report incidents of academic misconduct (per item #3 of the Academic Misconduct Policy). Instructors are encouraged to report all incidents of academic misconduct in order to prevent future misconduct and to promote a climate of academic integrity at CCSU.

Safe Assign

SafeAssign™ is a plagiarism prevention service, offered by Blackboard to its Blackboard Learning System Enterprise, Vista Enterprise and CE Enterprise clients. This service helps educators prevent plagiarism by detecting unoriginal content in student papers. In addition to acting as a plagiarism deterrent, it also has features designed to aid in educating students about plagiarism and importance of proper attribution of any borrowed content.

Honorlock

Honorlock is a remote proctoring service that creates a fair testing environment for all students by protecting exams and academic integrity. Honorlock’s remote proctoring services works directly within Blackboard, and uses Artificial Intelligence to monitor each student’s online exam session and alerts a live, US-based proctor if any academic dishonesty is detected.

What Should Be Reported

All forms of misconduct should be reported. Some examples include: 

  • Plagiarism [quoting without attribution and poor paraphrasing, even if the source is generated by artificial intelligence (AI)]  
  • Copying another’s work   
  • Helping someone else cheat   
  • Using notes or books during a closed book exam   
  • Sharing exam answers   
  • Buying or selling papers
