Mission
The CCSU IAB is an organization that supports the CCSU Construction Management (CM) program by providing information and guidance to assist with the professional development of the students and the long-range goals and accreditation of the program by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
Member Duties
The members of the CCSU IAB shall support and promote the Mission of the CCSU IAB and in addition, shall:
- Attend the bi-annual meetings and any special meetings called by the Chair.
- Participate in committees established by the CCSU IAB and report as required.
Central IAB Committee List
The responsibilities of each committee are as follows:
Committee #1, the Current Board Members List and Expiration Dates, is tasked with maintaining the contact information and expiration dates of board members, confirming their contact details, and reaching out prior to term expiration to confirm whether members wish to continue serving.
Committee #2, Board Development, focuses on recruiting new board members, maintaining a list of potential candidates, and assisting with organizing field trips and guest speakers for events.
Committee #3, ACCE Liaison, is responsible for attending ACCE meetings and events to keep the board informed about any relevant changes or updates.
Committee #4, CCSU Awards, maintains lists for Alumni and Industry awards, collects nominations and resumes for potential award recipients, manages the voting process for the awards, and ensures that selections are made by November 31 and communicated to the Faculty Chair.
Committee #5, Fundraiser Coordinator, creates fundraising events to help the CCSU CM club, the program and scholarships
Committee #6, Exit Interview List/Date and Coordinator, manages the exit interview process for CCSU graduates, coordinates board member volunteers for interviews twice a year, and compiles the data for presentation to the board.
Committee #7, Career Fair Coordinator, assists in managing and organizing the annual career fair, helps select the event date/time, and recruits companies seeking Construction Management Managers to attend.
Committee #8, Curriculum Issues/Review of Curriculum, oversees the ongoing review of the CCSU Construction Management curriculum, tracks any changes made, and recruits board members to assist with curriculum reviews when necessary.
Committee #9, Alumni Awards Dinner Coordinator, helps manage the annual Alumni Awards Dinner, assists in selecting the event date/time, and recruits alumni and industry professionals to attend.
Each committee plays a vital role in supporting the continued success of CCSU CM program, ensuring engagement from current board members, and facilitating key events such as the career fair and awards dinner.

Dr. Stuart Bennett Alumni Award & Construction Industry Award
Every April, the IAB and CM program host the CM Alumni Dinner at CCSU to honor the achievements and contributions of CCSU alumni and industry professionals who make a significant impact on the construction community.
In order to be nominated for the Alumni award, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an alumnus from the CCSU Construction Management Program
- Must have at least five years of construction work experience
- Must have provided service to the construction community

To be eligible for the Industry award, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Will have worked in the public or private sector of the Connecticut Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) community for a minimum of fifteen (15) years.
- Will have made a significant contribution to the AEC community and be held in esteem by his/her peers.
- Is not an Alumnus of the Construction Management Program.
