Comprehensive Exam for Graduate Students
Master's Programs
Note: Prepare to take the examination on a computer.
Eligibility Requirements
Before students are allowed to take the Comprehensive Exam, they must have met the following eligibility requirements:
- Completed 24 credit hours of planned program of study
- Taken RDG 598/LLA 520 or are currently enrolled in RDG 598/LLA 520 as last course in planned program
- Communicated with program advisor to confirm eligibility AND to request study topics to help prepare for the exam
- Applied for the Comprehensive Exam through the School of Graduate Studies
Application Form
The Application form (Comprehensive Exam-Plan B) can be downloaded from the School of Graduate Studies website.
Application Deadline
Fall
For the Fall Semester Examinations, the form must be received by the School of Graduate Studies no later than October 1.
Spring
For the Spring Semester Examinations, the form must be received by the School of Graduate Studies no later than February 15.
Comprehensive Exam Dates
Fall
First Saturday in November (9:00am-12:00pm)
Spring
First Saturday in March (9:00am-12:00pm)
