Drag Ball

Drag Balls have deep roots in LGBTQIA+ history, growing out of ballroom culture as spaces where queer and trans people, especially Black and Latinx communities, could express themselves freely and build community. Our Drag Ball honors that legacy while celebrating today’s drag artistry with performances, music, coaching, and bold self-expression. Come dressed up, dressed down, or in whatever way feels most you!

Lavender Graduation

Founded by Dr. Ronni Sanlo, Ed.D., Lavender Graduation began in 1995 at the University of Michigan, as a way to honor the academic achievements of LGBTQIA+ students who were otherwise excluded from traditional honors and ceremonies. Central held its very first Lavendar Graduation ceremony on April 29th, 2010 and is honored to continue this tradition for both undergraduate and graduate students. This celebration continues to recognize LGBTQIA+ graduates, their journeys, and the communities that helped them get here.
