CCSU has a wealth of technological resources that are just a click away. Below you will find some of the most important topics to get you started with technology at CCSU. 

BlueNet Account 

A BlueNet Account is a unique username and password assigned to each faculty, staff, and student at CCSU. It is used to access computing services both on and off campus. Use your BlueNet Account to log in to campus computers and log in to online systems via CentralPipeline (such as WebCentral-Banner Web, Blackboard, Remote Application Server, and the On-Line Card Office). Your supervisor will need to request a BlueNet account on your behalf using the online BlueNet Account Request System. Once your BlueNet account has been requested and staged, you will use the Accounts Management System at https://accounts.ccsu.edu to activate your account and select your CCSU email address. Along with your BlueNet account, you will receive personal network storage space (an M drive). Upon separation from the University, your BlueNet account and associated email account will be disabled.

Password Security

To keep your account secure, your BlueNet Account password will expire every 120 days. You can avoid expiration by changing your password on a regular basis. You do not have to wait 120 days; you can reset it anytime using either a campus computer or the Accounts Management System at https://accounts.ccsu.edu.

Your password must be a "strong" password, comprised of at least 8 characters and include at least one uppercase letter and at least one numeric or symbol character. An example of a "strong" password is MyP@ssw0rd because it contains uppercase letters, a symbol and a number.

CCSU Email

All faculty and staff with a BlueNet Account are automatically given a CCSU email account with a storage quota of 50 gigabytes (GB). As a new faculty and staff member, you will select your CCSU email address when you activate your BlueNet Account using the Accounts Management System at https://accounts.ccsu.edu. Your email is accessed using Microsoft Outlook from on‐campus or Outlook Web Mail (https://webmail.ccsu.edu) from off‐campus. Upon separation from the University, your BlueNet account and associated email account will be disabled.

Office 365 Account

All faculty and staff with a BlueNet Account are automatically given an Office 365 account, which allows you to access Outlook web mail, OneDrive online file storage, and online versions of Microsoft Office products. In addition, you have access to download and install the full version of Microsoft Office on up to 5 personally-owned computers and 5 mobile devices. To access Office 365, navigate to https://office.ccsu.edu and log in with your CCSU email address and BlueNet password. For more information about Office 365, visit www.ccsu.edu/office365.

Technical Support

The IT Help Desk is the single point of contact for assistance with supported software, hardware and other IT services. We are open Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 8pm and Friday 7:30am - 5pm. Blackboard Learn support is available 24x7 by calling the IT Help Desk number after hours. Our contact information is on the left of this page. 

The Walk-in Support Center provides technology support for personally-owned computers and campus technology. We are located in Marcus White (entrance facing Social Sciences Hall). 

Self-Help is available through our IT Services catalog. The catalog provides details and access links for nearly all technology services and resources. Click the IT Services button on the left of this page to access the catalog.

We recommend that you review the following IT Services catalog pages for more information about your account and other systems you may need to use:

  • Netshares - network file storage. You have a personal netshare (M drive) with 10 gigabytes (GB) of storage space. You may also have access to a department drive (S drive) and university-wide drive (U drive). 
  • Administrative Systems - we have a variety of administrative systems such as Banner INB for maintaining official records, Hyperion for reporting, WebNow for viewing/approving invoices. 
  • Learning Management System and Instructional Design Services - we use Blackboard Learn as our course management system. There are several tools that may be used in conjunction with Blackboard Learn such as Kaltura for media recording and TurningPoint for student response automation. Instructional design services are also available through the Instructional Design and Technology Resource Center.
